I have a special focus and interest in working with teenagers, adoptees, those who have adopted and also have extensive training in working with teens in crisis. My practice is relational and psychodynamic, with a focus on attachment theory and strength-based approaches. All this means that we work closely together to explore how your early life has shaped some of your current patterns and then use your natural strengths to help you gain better understanding and shift unwanted experiences and behaviors.

As a first-generation Asian American, I strive to create a safe and nurturing environment for other AAPI individuals and the BIPOC community. As a child of a cross-racial adoption, I understand the unique and complex feelings that can arise over the course of a lifetime specific to adoption. A special passion of mine, and focus in my practice, is to help others work through this experience.

A little about me: I was born in South Korea and adopted into a cross-racial family after spending a few months in foster care. I grew up on an island in the middle of Lake Washington, near Seattle. My favorite way to decompress is to watch mindless reality TV and listen to Taylor Swift.

If something you read resonated, give me a call or reach out to me by text.  I offer a free 15 minute consultation.

My Services

Individuals

I love working with individuals. I’d describe my therapy style as direct, relational, and strength-based.  Our authentic connection and building of trust will be most important in uncovering your past and present obstacles.  We will focus on your strengths, resilience, and mindset that will amplify your best qualities.

Teenagers

I’ve worked with teenagers for several years and have extensive training with teens in crisis. I appreciate their authenticity. I have helped teenagers through the turmoil of the high school and college application process, the transition from home to college, the post-college transition, and many of the other qualms that come with being a teenager. We will use our time to build a genuine connection and work jointly on what you’d like to accomplish throughout therapy.
